THE ID4AFRICA
IDENTITY COUNCIL (IIC)

A voice from Africa for Africa

This year, ID4Africa has Ambassadors from 48 African countries. Individually, they serve as the link between the Movement and the identity stakeholders in their respective countries. Collectively, they form the ID4Africa Identity Council (IIC) – A voice from Africa and for Africa that acts as a think-tank advisory body for Governments on identity matters.

The IIC is an institution of ID4Africa which was launched at the Ambassadors Summit of 2019. It holds its own meetings presided by the elected President and Vice-President. The objective of the IIC meetings is to provide counsel to African Governments on pressing issues related to identity policy. It is a form of South-South knowledge exchange body.
