Identity Day
ID4Africa is proud to be the founding organization and custodian of Identity Day (ID Day), a global awareness initiative that seeks to establish worldwide recognition of 16 September as Identity Day, inspired by UN Sustainable Development Goal 16.9 (SDG 16.9). The campaign champions legal identity as a fundamental human right and a foundation for inclusion, protection and sustainable development, encouraging people around the world to commemorate the day and reaffirm their shared commitment to ensuring that no one remains invisible or excluded for lack of identification.
