Solutions Forum Speaking Opportunities
Overview
ID4Africa invites key industry stakeholders to apply for a limited number of sponsored speaking opportunities in the Solutions Forum at the ID4Africa 2027 AGM, taking place in Cape Town, South Africa, from 15-18 June 2027. The theme of the 2027 AGM is "Digital Identity Ecosystems: Fostering the Connections". A detailed explanation of the theme is shared below. A maximum of 10 speaking slots will be available. The Solutions Forum offers selected companies an exceptional platform to share proven solutions and implementation experience with a high-level audience of about one thousand African government representatives, development partners and industry leaders. It runs as a 2-part plenary session the morning of day 2, June 16. Each speaking slot is 20 minutes, comprising a 15-min presentation followed by 5-mins of audience Q&A. Presentations must comply with the ID4Africa Editorial Policy: they must be substantive, evidence-based, designed to support knowledge transfer and cannot contain sales and marketing pitches.
Review & Selection
All submissions will be evaluated competitively, and shortlisted companies will be interviewed (via Zoom) before the final selection is made.
Selection Criteria
Proposals will be assessed on the extent to which they:
- Present an actual solution that has been successfully deployed, rather than a concept or prototype.
- Demonstrate clear relevance to current African needs, priorities and operating environments.
- Identify the key partners involved and clearly explain their respective roles.
- Provide evidence of tangible results or impact.
- Share practical implementation experience, including key lessons learned, challenges encountered and approaches used to overcome them.
- Offer actionable insights that African governments and implementing partners can apply or adapt within their own contexts.
Preference will be given to proposals that go beyond describing what was delivered and demonstrate the practical value of the experience for others.
Sponsorship Contribution
Companies selected to present will be required to contribute a sponsorship fee, which directly supports the participation of African government delegates. For details, contact Veronica Ribeiro at v.ribeiro@id4africa.com
Submission Deadline: October 16, 2026
APPLICANTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO USE THE AGM THEME AS A GUIDE WHEN DEVELOPING THEIR PROPOSALS. PRIORITY WILL BE GIVEN TO SUBMISSIONS THAT DEMONSTRATE CLEAR ALIGNMENT WITH THE THEME AND ITS AREAS OF FOCUS.
About the Theme
"DIGITAL IDENTITY ECOSYSTEMS: FOSTERING THE CONNECTIONS"
At the 2026 AGM, we moved the conversation on digital identity from individual systems to digital identity ecosystems, focusing on the participants that constitute them. In 2027, we take the next logical step: we shift our focus from the role of these participants to examining the connections among them. At the heart of this progression is a guiding idea: the strength and sustainability of an ecosystem depend not only on its individual components, but even more critically on the quality of its connections. In other words, while strong institutions and capable systems matter, the health of an ecosystem ultimately depends on how well they connect and work together. Digital Identity Ecosystems: Fostering the Connections places relationships at the center of our discussions. The word “fostering” is deliberate: meaningful connections do not arise simply because systems are interoperable, nor are they an end in themselves. They are built through sustained collaboration around a compelling shared purpose. We see digital service delivery as precisely that purpose — one that brings together the strengths of different institutions and gives them a shared responsibility for delivering services that people can access and trust. It is through that shared responsibility that connections are strengthened and the ecosystem gains resilience and value. AGM 2027 will ask who needs to work together, where relationships are missing or fragile, and what prevents effective collaboration. Using digital service delivery as the practical lens, we will examine how trust is built and what allows these connections to endure: technical compatibility and interoperability, clear legal and governance arrangements, institutional commitment, and viable economic models. Their value, ultimately, will be measured by what they make possible for people — digital services that are more accessible, reliable and responsive to their needs.
