Gertrude Kadumbo

Gertrude Kadumbo is a certified digital identity and digital financial services practitioner by Tufts University, Fletcher School under the Digital Frontiers Institute. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Information and Technology and a master’s degree in Business Administration. She has formulated national retail digital payments strategies and has implemented and operationalized all-inclusive national payment switches that are designed to address financial inclusion through interoperability of retail digital financial systems. Gertrude has immense experience in digital financial services, bank operations and in the implementation and management of digital financial solutions. She is passionate about identification for development and about enabling digital finance service delivery to accelerate social and economic development for marginalized populations. She works closely with the Malawi National Registration Bureau on various aspects that include verifiable identification and other projects; with central banks, Ministries of Finance, commercial banks, non-banks financial institutions such as Mobile Money Operators, Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs) and other key stakeholders including international organizations such as the World Bank Group and the African Development Bank Group.
